Raising disciples
Going back to the roots...
We want to be the change the world is looking for, by impacting and influencing one life at a time. Teaching, training and discipling as jesus did. he loved the people. we must also. |
Operation Harvest was founded in 2002. The Discua family packed their bags in faith that God would lead and moved down to Bolivia, in South America. Bolivia is a landlocked country with the border countries of Peru, Chile, Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil. Bolivia has a population of over 10 million people and it is about the size of CA and TX put together! It is known as the "Tibet of the Americas" with the Andes mountains and it's surrounding known as the Altiplano. Over half of the population of Bolivia lives in the Altiplano.
The two predominant indigenous groups are the Quechua and Aymara peoples. The Quichua peoples are the largest group of indigenous peoples in the Americas and also the only people who migrated to the Andes and to the rainforest areas in the Amazon Basin. Through the years the Lord has opened doors for ministry in Bolivia through Children's Centers, soup kitchens, houseboats ministering along the Amazon river tributaries , pastors and leadership seminars as well as taking short term teams down to help in building churches, working in orphanages, doing sports championships in city parks and general upkeep of local Bolivian ministries and churches. When the Discua family relocated to the US, their ministry of Operation Harvest did not end. Locals in Bolivia continue to serve the Lord through the vision of OH and Operacion Cosecha is alive and fully functioning through the local church in South America, which has been the goal from the very beginning. As the vision has grown, OH also serves as an umbrella organization, helping to fund missionaries in other countries through the mission of Operation Harvest. It has expanded to both nationally and internationally. |
"You know the saying, 'Four months between planting and harvest.' But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!" John 4:35-36 NLT
